THE BEALES OF EAST HAMPTON

Major Thanks to Jerry Torre AKA The Marble Faun. Jerry has been terribly generous in sharing so much about his life with the Beales. I’ve been able to see over 2.5 additional hours of edited Grey Garden’s footage thanks to Jerry. He held a private screening in the West Village last week that completely blew me away. This screening was followed by a visit to Maysle Films wherein I was able to meet Albert and see more amazing footage.
Criterion will be releasing a new edition of Grey Gardens that will contain up to an hour of new footage. It was a profoundly emotional experience to watch this footage with Jerry. Jerry was a major part of The Beale’s lives, an aspect not wholly illustrated in the original film.
